Shirley Valentine written by Willie Russell is about a brave heroine in this one woman tour-de-force. Shirley is an ordinary middle class English housewife. As she prepares chips and egg for dinner, she ruminates on her life and talks about her husband, her children, her past, and an invitation from a girlfriend to join her on holiday in Greece...
This hilariously engaging play was a recent record breaking hit remount in London and plays all over the world. Originally opened in New York, performed by Pauline Collins, who later recreated her role on film garnering an Oscar nomination.
Kirsten Sixt is Shirley Valentine
Kirsten ventures into her second production of Shirley Valentine having played the demanding role for the Highlands Festival Theatre in 2023. She has vast experience in drama, musical theatre, choral work, and producing theatre for charity. Kirsten is a producer for Firefly Collective and she is thrilled to be performing Shirley Valentine for you in November 21-24 2024 at the Papermill Theatre.
